Becoming a Partner
Becoming a Spectrum Community Partner is easy and rewarding. If your business has a commitment to students with special needs, Spectrum would be pleased to develop a mutually beneficial program to provide you with part-time assistance from our dedicated students. We collaborate with employers who are committed to providing transition education and vocational training so students can learn the skills necessary to lead a fulfilling adult life.
Spectrum provides administrative oversight to businesses that partner with us, and we guide each student and partner through the transition process. Spectrum provides pre-employment preparation/training; intensive job coaching, which diminishes to enhance independence structured work training to meet employer needs; and measurable and monitored goals with frequent check-ins with the employer.
Partners often provide opportunities in stocking, light janitorial services, clerical support, landscaping/grounds maintenance and food service.
Spectrum also helps pay student wages during the training and pre-employment process. After a predetermined transition and training period, students move to the business’s payroll, and many partners choose to hire students as permanent employees once they complete their education.
